Things You Should Know Before Ordering Artwork
Share
Ordering artwork can be an excellent way to honour a loved one's memory, put a wholesome take on a sentimental photograph, or even commemorate a joyous occasion. But, it can also be kind of a big deal.
So, here's what you need to know. Grab a cup of tea, settle in, and let's get down to brass tacks!
How much does it cost?
Prices start at $300 for A3-sized, graphite drawings. This means that the drawings will be in black and white (greyscale) only. Due to time constraints, colour drawings and paintings are not currently available.
Prices may vary depending on the subject or the level of time required to complete the works. If you're not sure, I am always
happy to answer your questions!
Do I need to pay a deposit?
A 50% deposit is required at the commencement of works. For any reason, should I be unable to fulfill your order, this will be
refunded back to you. Full payment is required prior to the delivery of your artwork, but you will be provided with photographs of the drawing upon completion to ensure you are happy with the product. Postage and shipping fees are included in the quoted price.
How long will it take?
Whilst I empathise that artwork may be ordered as a last-minute gift - (we've all been there!) - and will endeavour to accommodate such requests, it is recommended that you allow a minimum of two weeks for the commencement of your work from the time of order.
Inclusive of shipping times, you should allow up to three weeks for your drawing to arrive to you.
Your artwork will arrive to you in a postal tube. This will mean that it is rolled up, but rest assured: it will flatten out nicely once you have it framed.
Some points to consider when handling your drawing, are:
- Be cautious not to place your drawing on any unclean or wet surfaces that may damage the paper or leave stains, etc
- Take special care of the edges of the paper, for example: be wary of bumping it or accidentally folding the edges of the paper. It may be small, but any creases and folds can detract from the artwork and cause unsightly blemishes to the parchment!
- Please refrain from touching the drawing itself. Graphite is quite loose in pigment, and is therefore easily smudged.
- Once you have looked at your drawing in person, please roll it back up, storing it in a safe, dry place, within the postal tube until it is framed.
Do you do framing?
Unfortunately, I do not offer a framing service.
Upon reception of final payment, your drawing will be promptly posted, and you will receive a tracking number to follow the progress of the delivery.
